Song Connects Us

What is Song Connects Us (SCU)?

Brought about through the efforts of Limitless Health Institute (LHI) — a non-profit organization that seeks to help people and other organizations achieve their goals through both creative, cultural mediums and social outreach — the SCU program was designed to be a free, fun, and compelling way to help young people examine their feelings and ideals, develop their emotional and social awareness, and convey this through their individual experiences and creativity. The classes are intended to teach these individuals to nurture their inner strengths through the use of traditional and experimental forms of music, song, and verse.

Imagine, if you will, a place where you felt you could always belong. A place that you could go to cast away your worries for a day. To commune with others who are a lot like you — or even not like you at all. Bringing newness to your sense of self, from outside yourself, that you had never stopped to consider before. A place well within your reach. For some, that place is Song Connects Us. And it is hoped that sound, rhythm, beat, and lyric — born in the heart and mind — will bring them all a little bit closer to realizing their dreams and ambitions.

The Song Connects Us program is a fun creative way for youth to communicate feelings, develop emotional awareness, and be inspiring individuals within community. The experiential music classes give everyone support to express matters of the heart, share their hopes and dreams through lyric, rhythm, sound and song.

The interactive environment encourages young people to work together while creating something meaningful together. Song Connects Us classes are a collaborative learning process that builds healthy productive relationships that strengthens the individuals potential.

Every SCU program offers the young person to delay their music and share with community in a performance, and multimedia production.
