Elder Storytelling Empowers

Elders listen, create, and bond through composing stories, art, and songs together! Using these methods, seniors tell the story of their experiences and express messages of hope for one another. As participants enjoy each other’s creativity, another elder's voice is heard in the world. Giving honor to the valuable contributions of elders impacts all generations!  

Elders form relationships at home and across the country, as we provide a venue for seniors to share their expressions and facilitate their communication. Their creations are shared with other seniors at their center, and with residents of other centers nationwide. As this back-and-forth exchange continues, elders develop relationships that nurture them. The exchange of messages is coordinated by LHI staff, including our Youth Ambassadors. LHI also helps create presentations of any work the seniors wish to share with the public! 

During the isolation that elders often experience, this program is a chance to be heard and to hear others' stories. Elders Storytelling Empowers connects the generations in an exchange that inspires everyone!
